The amelanistic (albino) mutation of Emory's rat snakes are yellow with a white background. These originated from wild-caught stock and have no corn snake genetics in them. First bred here at South Mountain Reptiles.
These have recently been described as a new species. They were formerly considered intergrades between corns and Emory's (great plains) rat snakes. They are still popularly considered to be a corn snake. Kisatchies are primarily found in Louisiana and extreme E. Texas. These are one of the darkest examples of the corn snake types. Most of ours exhibit "metallic" colors.
If you like dark eyed white snakes, these are about as good as they get. Our leucistic black rat snakes are very much like the leucistic Texas rats with a few exceptions.
